The Grumpies are ready to bring laughter, music, and a little bit of mischief to your next event! You can invite them for an engaging, family-friendly puppet show that kids (and adults!) will love.
Our shows are ideal for:

Outdoor shows are welcome, but they must be covered and approved before booking to protect the puppets and equipment.
Please note: The Grumpies are not available for private events, such as birthday parties or residential home visits.

General
Q: How far in advance should we book a puppet show?
A: Bookings will start 4 weeks in advance to secure your preferred date. Bookings are accepted up to six months ahead.
Q: Can we schedule multiple shows in one day?
A: Yes! Each additional show after the first is offered at a discounted rate (Up to 4 shows can be booked in a day).
Q: How long are the shows?
A: A standard show runs approximately 30 to 45 minutes. (Shows for pre-school age children will run approximately 25 to 40 minutes.)
Pricing & Payment
Q: How much does one show cost?
A: A standard single show is $375. Discounts are available for Title 1 schools and multiple same-day performances. (Submit a quote request for more information.)
Q: Do you require a deposit?
A: Yes. A 50% deposit is required to book a show on specified date. The remaining balance is due on the day of the performance.
Q: Do you charge travel fees?
A: Travel is included within 25 miles of our base location (Loganville, GA 30052). Passed 25 miles, a $0.65 per mile travel fee applies.
Setup & Technical Requirements
Q: What kind of space do you need for the show?
A: An indoor area approximately 15 ft wide x 5 ft deep with a ceiling height of at least 8 ft.
Q: How long does setup take?
A: Stage setup, sound setup, and soundcheck take about 90 minutes. Stage breakdown will take 60 minutes. If multiple shows are booked, a 25-minute reset is required between each one.
Q: Do you need access to electricity?
A: Yes, please ensure one standard electrical outlet (120V) is available near the performance area.
Q: Can the show be performed outdoors?
A: Outdoor performances are not recommended, as lighting, sound, and puppet visibility are affected. However, some covered outdoor setups may work upon approval.
Audience & Supervision
Q: How many children can attend each show?
A: For the best experience, we recommend a maximum audience of 100 per standard show.
Q: Do teachers or adults need to stay during the show?
A: Yes. A responsible adult or staff member must be present throughout the entire performance.
Q: Is audience participation allowed?
A: Definitely! The shows are interactive and designed to engage students through storytelling, humor, and light participation.
Before & After the Show
Q: What time will the team arrive?
A: The performance team will arrive approximately 90 minutes before showtime.
Q: Do we need to provide anything?
A: Yes. The appropriate performance space, access to power, and a safe path for unloading equipment. The performance team will handle all stage equipment, props, puppets, and sound gear.
Q: Can we take photos or video during the show?
A: Photos are welcome! Video recording is allowed for internal use only. Distribution of show recordings for profit is prohibited.
Cancellations and Rescheduling
Q: What if we need to cancel or reschedule?
A: Cancellations made at least 7 days before the event will receive a full refund of the deposit. Within 7 days, the deposit may be applied to a rescheduled date.
*If The Grumpies performers cancel, a full refund of the deposit will be issued, or a new date may be booked.
